Jakarta, May 31, 2023 – The Center for International Cooperation at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta recently organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to refine the guidelines for international cooperation. This strategic initiative seeks to redefine and update the framework for international collaborations at UIN Jakarta. The event was conducted in recognition of the vital role of international cooperation in achieving the university’s strategic goals, particularly in enhancing the engagement and integration of foreign students.

The FGD comprised three sessions that delved into various aspects of international cooperation. The first session discussed the Regulation and Strengthening of Foreign Cooperation in the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, presented by Dr. H. Ahmad Bahiej, S.H. M.Hum., the head of the Bureau of Foreign Cooperation and Public Relations at the ministry. He shed light on the regulations and efforts undertaken by the ministry to bolster international collaborations. The second session discussed the Regulation and Strategy of Enhancing International Cooperation for higher education institutions, presented by Dr. Bambang Susanto, the head of the International Office at UPN Veteran Jakarta. The last session discussed building and improving the quality of international cooperation at higher education institutions, presented by Yunitasari, the coordinator of foreign cooperation at the Bureau of Cooperation and Public Relations at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

The FGD aimed to gather inputs and feedback from various stakeholders to finalize the draft of international cooperation guidelines at UIN Jakarta. The guidelines are expected to provide a clear and comprehensive framework for managing and developing international cooperation activities at the university. The revised guidelines resulting from the FGD will serve as a roadmap for UIN Jakarta in strengthening its international partnerships, facilitating student mobility, and promoting cross-cultural understanding. The university aims to leverage these collaborations to enhance the quality of education and research, further establishing its reputation as a globally engaged institution.
